About Me

making landscaping beautiful and beneficial

Landscaping your yard could be more beneficial than you think. The landscaping can actually be more than just beautiful - it could be effective in controlling water flow and pests in your yard. How do you create a landscape design that will be both beautiful and beneficial? Are some plants better and more hardy than others? How do you choose what plants to place where? How much hardscape does your design need? These and many other landscaping questions are answered on my website. Take a moment to read up on my personal experiences and learn from what I have been through in the past.

A Landscape Architect Can Help Your Business Make a Good First Impression

Creating a perfect landscape for your business is important. That's because you want to make sure that you are presenting a good first impression to anyone coming into your business. But, you are probably busy trying to run your business, so you don't have the time to handle the landscaping, either the design or the actual physical work. In order to handle the work, you can hire a landscape company. They can come in at the very beginning of the process and handle all the architecture that goes into your landscape. The landscaping company is capable of handling several parts of your landscape design for you.

Hardscaping

This isn't a part of landscaping design and architecture that most people think about. Hardscaping is all the hard stuff that goes into your landscape. That includes your parking lot, walkways, lighting, benches, and water features. The landscape architect who is working on the hardscape design is going to spend time on your site looking at everything, evaluating the drainage, and testing the soil for soil type and compaction before they start doing anything. The reason for this is because they need to make sure that your parking lot will drain well and that the soil underneath your parking lot or walkways isn't going to shift or sink. The landscape architect may have to make sure that the soil is stabilized to help prevent those things. The person doing the hardscape may be the same person doing the softscape, or they will work in tandem to make sure that everything looks cohesive.

Softscape

The softscape part of your business' landscape is pretty much everything else. It's all the trees, flowers, grass, and bushes that are going to go into your landscape. The person in charge of this part of your landscape is going to talk to you about what you want your landscape to look like, and if you have any particular desires for it. For example, if your business has a specific logo, you might want to have a landscape that mirrors that logo, either by shape or by color. You can show the landscape architect what your logo looks like and ask them to show you some designs that will work.

If you have a business building, and you want to make sure that you are making the best first impression possible, it is going to start by having a good landscape. People may not consciously make a decision to work with you because of the way that your business' landscape looks, but it never hurts. Keep this in mind when looking for a landscape architecture service near you.
